1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and TeachBoard ("TeachBoard", "we", "us", "our"), an Indian sole-proprietorship operating the website at teachboard.app and the related software, APIs and features (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which are incorporated here by reference.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The service
TeachBoard is a browser-based whiteboard designed for making teaching and explainer videos. It includes freehand drawing, structured shapes, tables, charts, diagrams, math (KaTeX) typesetting, media import (image / sprite / video / PDF), Manim animation generation, AI-generated charts and diagrams, an asset library and icon search.
The Service is offered in three tiers:
- Anonymous — the full local canvas, no sign-in required, no AI, no cloud sync.
- Free (signed in) — adds a one-time grant of AI calls and one cloud project, after signing in with a Google account.
- Pro — a paid monthly subscription that unlocks monthly AI & Manim credits, multiple cloud projects, parallel chat sessions and priority rendering. See the pricing page for current limits.
Tier names, limits and prices may change from time to time. Material changes that reduce paid benefits during a billing cycle will not apply retroactively to that cycle.
3. Accounts & eligibility
You may use the Anonymous tier without creating an account. To use AI features, cloud sync, or Pro, you must sign in with a Google account.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or purchase a subscription. We do not knowingly collect data from children. See our Privacy Policy.
- You agree the information you provide (or that Google provides to us via OAuth) is accurate and that you have the right to provide it.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. Notify us at xeonaicontact@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
- One account per individual person. Sharing a paid account between multiple users is not permitted.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service, and not to assist or permit any third party to use the Service, to:
- break any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right (including intellectual-property, privacy and data-protection laws);
- create, store, display, transmit or generate content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit involving minors, hateful, harassing, or that incites violence;
- generate or distribute malware, phishing pages, or anything that compromises the security of the Service or other users;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts or the underlying infrastructure (including AWS, Anthropic, Dodo Payments, Freepik, Pexels or Google systems we integrate with);
- scrape, mirror, frame, or systematically download the Service, or interfere with it via automated means beyond ordinary browser use;
- resell, white-label, or commercially redistribute the Service or AI outputs without our written permission;
- use the AI or Manim features to generate content that violates the underlying provider's policies (notably Anthropic's Usage Policies);
- reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- use the Service to train, evaluate or benchmark a competing AI product or whiteboard product.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section without prior notice where the breach is material or causes risk to others.
5. Subscriptions, billing & taxes
5.1 Pricing & currency
The TeachBoard Pro plan is offered at USD $10 per month, billed monthly in advance, unless a different price is shown to you at checkout. Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
5.2 Payment processor — Dodo Payments
All paid subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments acting as the merchant of record. By subscribing, you also agree to Dodo Payments' terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number, CVV or bank credentials — Dodo handles them under PCI-DSS compliance.
Dodo Payments may collect and remit applicable taxes (such as GST, VAT or sales tax) on our behalf, depending on your country of residence. The tax line shown at checkout is final.
5.3 Auto-renewal
Pro is a recurring subscription. Unless cancelled, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period for another period of the same length, at the then-current price. We will charge the payment method on file via Dodo Payments.
5.4 Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access to Pro features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Subject to limited exceptions, payments are non-refundable. The complete policy, including how to cancel and the narrow exceptions where a refund may be granted, is set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5.5 Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge through Dodo Payments and downgrade your account to the Free tier until payment succeeds. Cloud projects above the Free tier's project limit will remain stored but read-only until you either resume Pro or remove the excess projects.
5.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices and credit allowances. We will give you at least 14 days' notice by email (to the address attached to your Google account) before a price increase affects your renewal. If you don't want to renew at the new price, you can cancel before that renewal date.
6. AI features & outputs
TeachBoard's AI Chat, AI charts/diagrams and Manim generation are powered by third-party large-language-model providers (currently Anthropic) and our server-side Manim + LaTeX renderer.
- Inputs. When you use an AI feature, the prompt you type, any attached files (images, PDFs, snippets) and the relevant context of the selected canvas elements are sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Don't paste anything into AI features that you wouldn't be comfortable sharing with a third-party processor.
- Outputs. AI outputs are generated probabilistically. They may be wrong, incomplete, biased or non-deterministic. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying anything you publish or rely on. TeachBoard is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, educational accreditation or otherwise).
- Ownership. As between you and TeachBoard, you own the prompts you write and, to the extent allowed by law, the outputs the AI generates from your prompts on your canvas. We don't claim ownership of your AI-generated content, but we also don't warrant that those outputs are unique to you or unencumbered by third-party rights.
- Credits. AI and Manim usage consumes credits. Credit grants, rollovers and caps are described on the pricing page. Unused free-tier credits do not roll over; Pro credits roll over up to the cap shown on that page.
- Provider policies. Your use of AI features is also subject to Anthropic's Usage Policies. Violations there may result in feature suspension on our side.
7. Your content & our platform
7.1 Your content
"Your Content" means any files, drawings, prompts, attachments and project data you create or upload via the Service. You retain all rights you already had in Your Content. We don't claim ownership of it.
You grant TeachBoard a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, display and create technical derivative works of Your Content solely to operate, secure, debug and improve the Service for you (e.g. to render a PDF on your canvas, to call Anthropic with your prompt, to store a Manim render in S3 so it can play back). This licence ends when you delete the relevant content, except for backups and logs we retain for a limited period for security and recovery.
You represent that you have the rights to upload Your Content and that doing so doesn't infringe any third-party right.
7.2 Our platform
The Service — software, design, code, brand, logos, documentation and all underlying technology — is owned by TeachBoard or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
7.3 Feedback
If you send us feedback, bug reports or feature suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them without restriction.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers, including:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth) and profile info.
- Anthropic — AI chat, chart, diagram and Manim-script generation.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, storage (S3), CDN (CloudFront), Manim render Lambda.
- Dodo Payments — subscription billing.
- Freepik — icon search.
- Pexels — stock-video search.
Your use of those features is also governed by the respective provider's terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers beyond our reasonable control.
9. Availability & changes
We aim to keep TeachBoard available but we do not commit to a specific uptime, SLA or feature set unless we say so in writing. We may introduce, modify or remove features, change limits, or temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security, abuse, legal or technical reasons.
10. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and associated data, email xeonaicontact@gmail.com.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (in whole or in part) if:
- you breach these Terms or any policy referenced in them;
- your account is used in a way that creates risk or legal exposure for TeachBoard, other users or our third-party providers;
- a renewal payment fails and is not cured within a reasonable period; or
- we are required to do so by law.
Where suspension or termination affects a paid subscription, our Refund Policy governs any refund eligibility. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability caps, indemnities, governing law) survive.
11. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that AI outputs will be accurate, complete, current, lawful in your jurisdiction or suitable for any particular use. You use the Service at your own risk.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- TeachBoard will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such damages;
- TeachBoard's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you actually paid to TeachBoard for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions the exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless TeachBoard from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) Your Content; (b) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms; (c) your breach of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property or privacy right; or (d) any AI output you publish or rely on after we made it available to you.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the next paragraph, the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
We'd much rather solve problems by email than in a courtroom. Before starting any formal proceeding, please email xeonaicontact@gmail.com with a description of the dispute and what you'd like us to do; we will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. If the changes are material, we will give reasonable advance notice — for example by email or via an in-app notice — before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
