The short version. TeachBoard Pro is a monthly subscription at USD $10/month, billed via Dodo Payments. You can cancel any time — cancellation stops future renewals and you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Subject to the narrow exceptions described below, payments are non-refundable because Pro features are unlocked immediately and you can verify they work using the Free tier before subscribing.

1. What this policy covers
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to paid subscriptions to TeachBoard Pro (the "Subscription"), purchased through Dodo Payments as merchant of record. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
The Anonymous and Free tiers are not subject to charges and therefore have no refund consideration.
2. Try before you buy
Before purchasing Pro, every user can:
- Use the full drawing canvas anonymously, for free.
- Sign in with Google for free, which unlocks a one-time grant of AI calls so you can test the AI Chat, chart and diagram features end-to-end.
- Read the features page for a complete description of what Pro adds (monthly credits, more cloud projects, parallel chat sessions, priority Manim queue).
We strongly encourage you to use these free pathways to confirm TeachBoard works on your setup and that the AI / Manim outputs meet your needs before subscribing. Most refund disputes can be avoided this way.
3. How to cancel your subscription
You can cancel your Subscription at any time. Two equally valid options:
- From the app. Open teachboard.app → click your avatar in the top-right → Billing → Manage subscription. You'll be taken to the Dodo Payments customer portal, where you can cancel the renewal in one click.
- By email. Write to xeonaicontact@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Cancel Pro subscription". We will process the cancellation within 2 business days and email you confirmation.
You don't have to give a reason — but if there's something we could fix, we'd love to know. Reply with a sentence about what didn't work, and we'll feed it back into the roadmap.
4. What happens after you cancel
- Your Subscription stops auto-renewing.
- You keep Pro access — including the credits already granted for the current billing period — until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After that, your account automatically downgrades to the Free tier. Your projects are not deleted; they remain in storage. If you exceed the Free tier's project limit, projects above the limit become read-only until you either resume Pro or delete enough to fit within the limit.
- You can re-subscribe at any time from the same billing menu — there is no waiting period.
5. No-refund rule & reasoning
Once you have been charged for a billing period, that payment is non-refundable. We do not offer partial refunds for unused days within a period, and we do not refund past renewal cycles that you "forgot to cancel". This is because:
- Pro features are activated immediately when payment succeeds. AI and Manim credits are granted at the start of the period and can be consumed within minutes.
- AI and Manim usage incurs real cost to us through Anthropic and AWS that we cannot recover.
- You can verify the product end-to-end on the Free tier before paying anything.
This rule is consistent with how most SaaS subscriptions work and is the trade-off that lets us keep the price low.
6. Exceptions where we will refund
The no-refund rule has some narrow exceptions. We will issue a refund (full or pro-rated, as appropriate) where:
- Duplicate or accidental charge. Dodo Payments charged you twice for the same period, or you were charged after a confirmed cancellation. We'll refund the duplicate immediately.
- Unauthorised charge. Someone else used your payment method without your authorisation and you report it to us within 30 days. We will refund and cooperate with Dodo Payments on any fraud investigation.
- Accidental purchase reported within 24 hours. If you subscribed by mistake and contact us within 24 hours of the charge, and you have not consumed any Pro-tier AI / Manim credits during that window, we will issue a full refund.
- Material service failure. If a verified bug or outage on our side prevents you from accessing core Pro features for a material portion of the billing period (more than 7 consecutive days) and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable time, we will pro-rate or fully refund that period at our discretion.
- Legal / statutory requirement. Where the law of your jurisdiction requires us to offer a refund (e.g. specific consumer-protection rights), we will comply with that requirement.
All refund requests are reviewed individually. To request a refund under any of these exceptions, email xeonaicontact@gmail.com with the subject "Refund request" and include:
- the email address on your account,
- the date and approximate time of the charge,
- the exception you're invoking and a short description of what went wrong.
7. How a refund is processed
If a refund is approved:
- We will instruct Dodo Payments to refund the original payment method (the card / UPI / bank account used at checkout). We cannot refund to a different payment method.
- Refunds are typically credited to your account within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Some banks can take longer.
- You will receive an email confirmation from Dodo Payments / TeachBoard once the refund is initiated.
- If the refund relates to the current billing period, your Pro access ends immediately on refund.
8. Failed renewal payments
If a renewal charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds, bank decline), Dodo Payments will retry the charge over a short grace period. During the grace period your Pro access remains. If retries fail:
- Your account downgrades to the Free tier.
- You'll receive emails from Dodo Payments / TeachBoard prompting you to update your payment method.
- You can resume Pro at any time by updating the payment method or starting a new subscription.
9. Price changes & downgrades
We may change the Pro price. We will give you at least 14 days' advance notice by email before a price change applies to your renewal. If you don't want to renew at the new price, you can cancel before that renewal date — no refund is due, because no charge has happened yet.
If we materially reduce Pro features during a billing period in a way that you reasonably believe makes the Subscription no longer useful to you, write to xeonaicontact@gmail.com. We will pro-rate a refund for the unused portion of that period.
10. Chargebacks
If something has gone wrong, please email xeonaicontact@gmail.com before raising a chargeback with your bank or card network. In almost every case we can resolve the problem faster than a chargeback dispute would, and you'll get your money back in days rather than weeks.
Chargebacks raised without first contacting us, or chargebacks raised in bad faith (e.g. after extensive Pro-tier credit use), may result in your account being suspended pending resolution. We always cooperate with Dodo Payments and the issuing bank on bona fide chargeback disputes.
